As an integral part of the Services National Risk & Resilience Department we are specially recruited and trained to provide the Scottish Ambulance Service response to major incidents. These include incidents that may involve hazardous materials, or which present hazardous environments, that have occurred as a result of an accident or have been caused deliberately. As part of ongoing developments and partnership working with external agencies we are developing capabilities to support the Police and Fire & Rescue Service.
Exercise Sharp Skills was an internal Special Operations exercise designed to promote team working in challenging environments. The exercise brought the three Special Operations Resource Teams together to review existing skills and to develop a greater sense of team working. The overall aim of the event was to have a positive effect on the Team and to improve patient care when responding to significant incidents.
