Ambulance Service launches Highland recruitment drive

In an initiative that represents a major investment in rural health services, the Scottish Ambulance Service has launched a major drive to recruit 20 new front line staff in the Highlands and Western Isles.

The move will increase front line ambulance resources across the Highlands and Islands and is part of the programme to eliminate rostered single manning of ambulances over the next two years.
 
The Service is looking for people to train as Ambulance Technicians or existing Paramedics and Ambulance Technicians who might want to transfer to the area. Successful candidates will undergo full training at the Scottish Ambulance Service Training College near Peebles and formal qualifications are not essential. Candidates should preferably have a C1 driving license however training may be provided for the right candidates to meet this requirement.
 
Sam Kennedy, General Manager, North Division, Scottish Ambulance Service, said:

Salaries for successful candidates range from around £21,600 to £32,600 plus the potential for overtime, up to 41 days holiday, NHS final salary pension scheme and other NHS benefits.
