Storm Frank

The Scottish Ambulance Service are currently responding to multiple incidents across Scotland relating to Storm Frank and general high levels of festive season demand.

Ambulance teams are working closely with multiagency partners to prioritise resources, including ambulance crews, air ambulance and specialist retrieval teams as well as Specialist Operational Response teams paramedics trained in swift water rescue. Conditions in some areas are extremely challenging however they continue to respond alongside volunteers and partner agencies to save life.

Daren Mochrie, Director of Service Delivery of the Scottish Ambulance Service, said: “Our ambulance teams and volunteers have been doing a fantastic job, working tirelessly across the country to respond to patients in some very extreme conditions. The 999 service is for medical emergencies and public can help us by using it wisely so that we can continue to send ambulances to those that need us most. For any other healthcare need or medical advice they should call 111 or access local pharmacy and GP services.”
