Public asked to vote in ambulance awards in the east

 Tuesday 3 July 2012

Members of the public in the east of Scotland (NHS Borders, NHS Fife, NHS Forth Valley, NHS Lothian and NHS Tayside) are being asked to take part in the Scottish Ambulance Service annual staff recognition awards by nominating anyone that they think deserves recognition for their commitment to patient care.

The awards, now in their second year, are sponsored by Scotmid and recognise the high levels of dedication and professionalism shown by Service staff in the east.

The public can make nominations in two categories: Staff Member of the Year and Team of the Year at http://www2.formwize.com/run/survey3.cfm?idx=505D040D010D0A or by writing to:

Closing date for nominations is 31 July 2012

Pauline Howie, Chief Executive, Scottish Ambulance Service, said:
“These awards recognise examples of the high level of dedication and commitment to patient care that is at the heart of our values. We believe that the communities that we serve should have the opportunity to be involved in recognising excellence when they see it so have opened up the programme to members of the public.”

The winners will be recognised at an internal awards ceremony in August, with similar events in the West of Scotland later in the year. The Award ceremony for staff in the north of Scotland is taking place on 3 July.
