Adverse Weather

The Service has experienced an increase of 27% in demand today (Thursday 5 December) due to adverse weather.  These include road traffic accidents, falls and accidents with falling trees. Figures for each of the areas are below:

  • North (Highland, Western Isles, Shetland, Orkney, Shetland and Grampian) – 15 incidents related to road traffic accidents and falls
  • East (Tayside, Fife, Forth Valley, Lothian and Borders) –27 incidents related to road traffic accidents, falls and accidents with falling trees
  • West (Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Argyll and Bute, Dunbartonshire, Ayrshire and Arran and Dumfries and Galloway) –38 incidents related to road traffic accidents, falls and accidents with falling trees.

The Service continues to cope well with the additional demand.
