Our Board

Chief Executive and Chair

The Board is responsible for ensuring that the Scottish Ambulance Service meets all of its obligations to patients and staff.

The Board is made up of:

  • a Non-Executive Chair
  • the Chief Executive
  • eight Non-Executive directors including an Employee Director
  • two Executive Directors

The Chair and Non-Executive Directors are appointed by the Scottish Government through the Commissioner for Public Appointments. The Chief Executive and other Executive Directors are appointed through a process of public advertising and formal interview.

Board meetings take place every two months and are conducted in public. Members of the public can attend these meetings and observe proceedings. If you would like to attend a board meeting please contact Lindsey Ralph, Board Secretary
