Scottish Neonatal Transport Service

A patient is transferred onto an ambulance

The Scottish Neonatal Transport Service provides specialist care in the transfer of newborn babies to hospitals in Scotland with neonatal units and to specialist hospitals throughout the UK.

The team is specifically trained in the transport or critically ill babies. They include neonatal consultants, advanced neonatal nurse practitioners, transport fellows (doctors), specialist neonatal transport nurses and drivers.

Based at the  SCOTSTAR base at Glasgow Airport, with delivery teams at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Simpson Centre for Reproductive Health in Edinburgh, the service covers the whole of Scotland.

You can find out more about the Scottish Neonatal Transport Service on a leaflet for parents with ill newborn babies.
