Area Ambulance Assistants

Area Ambulance Assistants provide the focal point of Patient Transport activity and are mainly hospital based.

They provide schedules for Ambulance Care Assistants and Volunteer Ambulance Car Drivers. They also liaise with the public and hospital staff to support the delivery of a responsive service.

Across Scotland Area Service Offices are sited at 30 major hospital sites throughout the country. This has enhanced our integration into the wider NHS environment, in addition to providing a more local feel for the day to day planning and allocation of resources.

Entry Requirements: Minimum accurate typing speed of 35 words per minute.

Service Selection Process: Typing test, interview.
