Their high level of clinical knowledge and decision making skills, means they can ensure that the right care gets to the patient as quickly ass possible.

Clinical advisors also have a pivot role to play in liaising with other professionals within the wider NHS Scotland to ensure the right care pathways for patients.

The intervention of the Clinical Advisors ultimately helps the Service provide better outcomes for patients by ensuring the most appropriate care is provided based on patient need and that the resources available are fully utilised.
