Anticipatory Care

A person receiving a blood pressure check

Anticipatory care means activities to prevent or reduce the impact of ill health by catching potential problems at an early stage and enabling you and people supporting you to take action before these become more serious.

It also offers opportunity to link you to a wider range of support, whether from public services, voluntary organisations, or self-help groups.

Example - health checks

In partnership with NHS Highland, our crews are delivering ‘health check-up’ appointments in selected communities. Patients receive checks, for example blood pressure, weight, and blood sugar, and are given advice and may then be referred on to a support service to address an issue.
