Great to join our colleagues at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at Ayr Fire Station for a 999 Emergency Day

11 children spent the day learning about the fire and ambulance services.

Alongside Fire Service staff, James Young (Ayr Paramedic) brought an ambulance for a demonstration.

James said: "It was my great privilege to take an ambulance and provide scenario training for the afternoon session, when the children took part in a simulated pedestrian knock down.

"They fully immobilised the patient, transferred him into the ambulance, completed an assessment of his condition and then provided appropriate treatments.

"This was an excellent opportunity for the children to learn all about the work of the emergency services and the importance of teamworking. All the children took part enthusiastically and it was clear that they had a most enjoyable day."
