A brave youngster has been awarded a certificate by the Scottish Ambulance Service after calling 999 for his dad following a medical emergency

Christopher, 9  along with his dad Lee and wife Catriona. visited Edinburgh City Station on Saturday to be reunited with SAS’s Andrew Garven, David McCallum and student Blair who attended to him earlier this year after he had a ventricular tachycardia due to an age old cardiomyopathy issue

Lee said: "There has been many challenges this year with my condition which have gotten worse each time. Christopher has been well drilled on the condition I suffer and what to do.

"However I never thought he would need to carry it out. 10 minutes later he would've left for school and probably the last day he would have ever seen his dad again.

"Thanks to his concern and the fast acting of the team involved I'm still here to see Christmas with my family."

Well done to young Christopher! Amazing effort.
