West Lothian Ambulance Staff Honoured for 240 Years of Service

Eleven Scottish Ambulance Service staff from West Lothian, representing a combined 240 years of service, have been recognised at a local awards ceremony.

The event was held at the Civic Chambers of the West Lothian Civic Centre on Friday and was attended by SAS Chief Executive Michael Dickson, Provost of West Lothian Cathy Muldoon, and SAS Deputy Chief Executive Paul Bassett.

Other representatives from the Service, including East Region management, also attended.

Four staff were recognised for 30 years’ service and six for 20 years’ service. Six members of staff also received Long Service and Good Conduct Medals.

Chief Executive Michael Dickson said: “These staff have been wonderful ambassadors for the Scottish Ambulance Service and their communities. I was delighted to attend alongside Provost Cathy Muldoon, our senior staff and other members of the council to recognise these emergency responders. Throughout their respective careers, countless lives will have been saved and they have responded to hundreds of thousands of incidents over their time.”

Cathy Muldoon, Provost of West Lothian, said: “It was a genuine honour to welcome colleagues from the Scottish Ambulance Service to the Civic Centre for the Long Service and Good Conduct Awards.

“These awards recognise not only length of service, but also the high standards of integrity and professionalism that recipients have demonstrated throughout their careers.

“On behalf of West Lothian and the wider community, I would like to thank all the recipients for their dedication and exemplary service.”
