Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I request information about medical call-outs or hospital admissions related to football matches at Premier League stadiums in your area.
Time Period: 2023/24 season and any available data from the 2024/25 season
Stadium-Specific: If possible1. Number of ambulance call-outs or medical assistance requests from stadiums on matchdays.
2. Number of hospital admissions linked to injuries or incidents at the stadium (if available).
3. If possible, please indicate:
- The type of incident (e.g., collapse, injury, intoxication)A breakdown by stadium and match date would be appreciated.

We note that you have referenced FOIA 2000, please note the Scottish Ambulance Service is responding under FOISA 2002 (Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002).
Public authorities are not required to create information in order to answer a request. There’s a distinction between creating new information, and compiling information. Where a request can be answered by compiling information from readily-available resources held by the public authority, this is not the same as creating new information. However, if collation of the information would require skill and complex judgement, the information is not held. I have concluded that, in the case of data about the specific address of ‘Premier League Stadiums’ we are unable to produce this information without complex skill and judgement.
This is because, although we hold information about incidents at specific locations, the location information isn’t held in a way that allows us to report on ‘Stadium incidents’.
We also would not report this at the individual addresses of the stadiums; to report this at an individual address level we would be required to apply complex judgement to each incident to see if is attributed to the stadium or not. It is for this reason that we have applied the exemption Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002 as information not held.
