Response

Today, 19th July 2025, the Scottish Ambulance Service made a tweet which said "We are proud to be
supporting Glasgow Pride today! Come and say hi to our staff marching in the parade. #GlasgowPride #Pride #ProudAtSAS" I would like to know:

1. How much collectively did this cost the Scottish Ambulance Service for the participation of Glasgow Pride
No Scottish Ambulance Service funding was used for staff to participate in Glasgow Pride.

2. Costs spent on decorations (flags/balloons/bunting etc) for attending Glasgow Pride
The Scottish Ambulance Service has applied section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002, as
information not held. To explain the application of this exemption, no Scottish Ambulance Service finances were used to purchase any decorations.

3. Were ambulance personnel paid to attend Glasgow Pride
All staff that participated in the event were off duty on rostered days off. Scottish Ambulance Service staff attended during their own time and at their own expense; no expenses were claimed from the Scottish Ambulance Service.

4. How many vehicles were used for Glasgow Pride
There were two vehicles, one Accident and Emergency Vehicle and one Patient Transport Vehicle. Both of these vehicles were maintenance spares which are used to provide cover when a shift vehicle is taken off the road for servicing or maintenance. These vehicles being used for Pride were not to the detriment of frontline duties. No frontline operational vehicles were utilised at Glasgow Pride.

5. What was the length of time spent by each vehicle at Glasgow Pride
Both vehicles were there for the duration of the Parade and then returned to their base locations. This was
approximately 2.5 hours. Time to allow for decorations to be added and then removed.

6. How many staff attended Glasgow Pride & from which NHS areas
As staff attend the event on rostered days off, the Scottish Ambulance Service has no record of how many of its employees attend any Pride events.
