- Information Requested
During the last three recordable years. How many reported ‘Catastrophic bleed’ incidents has your ambulance service responded to (broken down by year) This could be either reported on your patient clinical record, if this metric is recorded in a data box. Or by a positive recording of catastrophic bleeding in the free text.
- Response
Please see the tables below detailing the total attended incidents where is has been reported as a catastrophic haemorrhage, amputation noted, or Tourniquet required for the last three years,
This information has been provided over two tables – T2 and T3. This is because there is a new clinical system being phased in. This phased system has been in place since June 2024 and involves only a portion of Scotland. There is the possibility that an incident from the Terrapace 3 system could be counted in the Terrapace 2 system and therefore the figures in the table should NOT be added together.
