How much did it cost to have ambulances changed to have Gaelic signage on them?
- Response
The Scottish Ambulance Service has applied section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002, as information not held.
There has been no additional cost to the Scottish Ambulance Service associated to the implementation of Gaelic branding on SAS vehicles. No Scottish Ambulance service vehicles have been altered. Any vehicles displaying Gaelic wording/signage/logos are as they were originally supplied from new to the Scottish Ambulance Service.
To help further explain, we have not altered any existing vehicles within the Service with new branding, any vehicles displaying Gaelic wording/signage/logos were originally supplied from new to the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Of the currently fleet there may be ambulance vehicles with only the English wording or ambulance vehicles with the combination of both English and Gaelic.
As vehicles continue to be replaced over time, they will all contain both the English and Gaelic wording.
The Scottish Ambulance service Gaelic Language Plan is available on our website, under strategies and plans, that provides further information - Strategies and Plans
