- Response
The Scottish Ambulance Service maintains a central database containing personal information of volunteer Community First Responders (CFRs), which is administered by the NRRD Business Support Team. The Community Resilience Team has authorised access to this data to enable effective support, coordination, and communication with volunteers as required. As CFRs are expected to respond within their local communities—defined geographically by a designated polygon—there is a legitimate operational need to identify and, where appropriate, map the residential locations of volunteers to optimise deployment and enhance the efficiency of the community response. Importantly, individual address details are not shared and are handled in accordance with data protection principles to ensure confidentiality and safeguard personal information.
