Information Requested

I am writing to request information about the NQP recruitment programme for 2025-2026. Each timescale has been changed with the current deadline of the end of August that has not been met. What is causing the issues in letting prospective employees know what is happening? Have all email rejections been sent? Could emails not have been sent to say you have a job and we'll be in touch in due course?

Response

What is causing the issues in letting prospective employees know what is happening?

The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) have been determining our full vacancy picture across the Service in each of the three regions. This is a complex process which involves looking at current vacancies, projecting future needs, factoring in attrition levels and this year has included factoring in the reduction of working week rostering and funding.

Have all email rejections been sent?

The vast majority of offers have now been issued, however there are some which are remaining therefore, not all rejection emails have been sent.

Could emails not have been sent to say you have a job and we'll be in touch in due course?

No, as SAS has been working through our vacancy picture to determine how many candidates will be appointed. It was not possible to send the suggested communication as it may have resulted in SAS having to retract this if we were unable to appoint all candidates to vacancies
