Please advise in relation to postcodes G72 9UG G72 9X G72 9Y G72 9Z G72 9AA  

1) the count of cases where the crew, either volunteer or service used the Naloxone (Narcan) drug button on the patient report forms in call outs from 01/01/2022 to date  

2) the count of cases where Naloxone was administered by staff, bystanders or from the patient’s own supply prior to Scottish ambulance and the patient was admitted to hospital  

3) the number of call outs to for any reason from 01/01/2022 to date  

4) the number of hospital admissions following call out for any reason from 01/01/2022 to date 

Response

For question 1 and question 2 we are unable to provide the specific data requested, as the numbers involved are very small. Releasing this information could risk the identification of individuals, even in anonymised form. 

In line with Section 38(1)(b) of FOISA – Personal Information – we are withholding this data to protect individuals’ privacy. Where figures are very low, there is a heightened risk that individuals could be identified through deduction or association, which would constitute a breach of data protection legislation. 

The Scottish Ambulance Service has attended 181 incidents that resulted in 127 conveyances to hospital within the G72 9UG G72 9X G72 9Y G72 9Z G72 9AA postcode areas. Please note that this figure reflects the total number of incidents recorded at postcode level and includes attendances both within residential properties and in outdoor public spaces.
