Please can you kindly provide the following information for your trust broken down per year for the last 5 years. 

 

  1. Please confirm the number of ambulances acquired by the trust split into blue light emergency vehicles and non-emergency patient transport vehicles. 
  1. Please can you confirm if you have a Length of Life policy on your front-line vehicles broken down into blue light emergency vehicles and non-emergency patient transport vehicles. 
  1. Please confirm how you determine the end of life of vehicles when removing from service. 
  1. Please confirm the job title of the person who is responsible for the acquisition of new vehicles. 
  1. Broken down into blue light emergency vehicles and non-emergency patient transport vehicles, please confirm the number of vehicles anticipated to be acquired in 2026.

  1. Please confirm the number of ambulances acquired by the trust split into blue light emergency vehicles and non-emergency patient transport vehicles.

  1. Please can you confirm if you have a Length of Life policy on your front-line vehicles broken down into blue light emergency vehicles and non-emergency patient transport vehicles. 

The Scottish Ambulance Service has an asset life aligned to depreciation which is normally 7 years for blue light emergency vehicles and 10 years for non-emergency transport vehicles. This may be adjusted aligned to the individual role of a vehicle. 

 

  1. Please confirm how you determine the end of life of vehicles when removing from service. 

End of life is determined by vehicle age, condition, mileage and cost of maintenance. 

 

  1. Please confirm the job title of the person who is responsible for the acquisition of new vehicles.
