- Information Requested
I am requesting to provide a figure in how many grievances have been raised by staff against management under the terms of bullying.
Can you also provide a figure of how many of these have been upheld and resulted in dismissal. From 2020-2025- Response
Information of Bullying and Harassment cases from 2020 – 2021 is information not held by the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS). SAS only started collating information on grievances in 2022 and therefore the information below is from 01/01/2022 – 30/11/2025.
There have been 12 Bullying and Harassment cases against Team Leader level management in the time period requested. 6 of these cases went to hearing and were not upheld and <5 are on-going and <5 were closed following early resolution.
There have also been 13 cases made against other management above team leader level. The outcomes for these cases are as follows;
- On-going
- Had learning outcomes/mediation
- Early Resolution
- Employee resigned
- Went to Hearing and Upheld
- No Case to Answer
Figures for each outcome are too small to report on.
For the given data, you will see that some of the figures are shown as, five or less than five, please note
that this figure has been suppressed because the statistical value is less than five. The Scottish Ambulance service has a duty, under the Data Protection Act to avoid directly or indirectly revealing any personal
details. It is therefore widely understood that provision of statistics on small numbers, five or less are
statistically suppressed upon disclosure.
