In relation to the Freedom of Information Act, please could you advise as to whether your organisation has introduced and implemented a policy covering the following: 

  

  • Supporting Staff with the Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure at their home. 
  • Making a travel claim or any form of reimbursement for charging electrical vehicles at home (Personal or work provided) for the purpose of work-related travel. 

  

If so, could you please provide a copy of this policy. 

Response

The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) does not have a policy for the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure at their home.   SAS have installed EVC sites at their ambulance stations where staff can charge their work vehicles. 

 

SAS does not reimburse staff to charge their vehicles at home.  If a staff member must travel out with their base location for work related purposes, they can claim mileage through the usual process.
