What formula is used to determine the amount of union facilities time each union receives.

How is any information used in the formula such as membership numbers verified.- Response
The Scottish Ambulance Service does not use a formula to determine the amount of facilities time allocated to trade unions. Facilities time is managed through an application and authorisation process for individual activities, rather than being calculated or allocated using a set formula.
As no such formula exists, the Service does not hold any information relating to formulas or the verification of data such as membership numbers. It is for this reason we have applied section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002, as information not held.
