Q5 – the Scottish Ambulance Service does not hold any information on how many applications have been made to the Scottish Information Commissioner (SIC). This information can be requested from the SIC - Contact Us | Scottish Information Commissioner
Q6 – We have applied section 25 to the request of Decision notices issued by the Commissioner. Decision notices issued to the Scottish Ambulance Service by the Scottish Information Commissioner can be found on the Scottish Information Commissioner's website - Decisions | Scottish Information Commissioner
Q7 – The Scottish Ambulance Service has not had any appeals at the Court of Sessions for the period requested.
Q8 – There are currently 500 Freedom of Information Requests published on the Scottish Ambulance Service website.
Q9 – There are no review requests published on the Scottish Ambulance Service website. Internal reviews are issued directly to the applicant in accordance with FOISA, but the Service does not currently operate a publication scheme for internal review decisions.
Q10 – The Scottish Ambulance Service does not hold a policy or criteria for what FOI requests, responses and reviews are published. The Scottish Ambulance Service is committed to openness and transparency and seeks to make FOI responses publicly available in order to support wider public understanding and reduce the need for repeated requests.
Q11 - Follow‑up correspondence forming part of an FOI request, including clarification exchanges and revised responses issued following an internal review, is not routinely published.
FOI correspondence is case‑specific and is intended to facilitate communication between the authority and the applicant in order to process a request in accordance with FOISA. Such correspondence may contain procedural, contextual or personal information and does not constitute information that the Service is required to make publicly available.
Where an internal review results in a revised decision or disclosure, this is communicated directly to the applicant, as required by FOISA. There is no statutory obligation to publish that correspondence.
The Scottish Ambulance Service does not hold a specific written policy or guidance governing the publication of individual FOI requests, responses, review outcomes or appeal outcomes.
FOISA does not require public authorities to publish FOI correspondence, and as such no formal criteria or policy has been developed for determining which FOI materials are published.
In accordance with section 17 of FOISA, the Scottish Ambulance Service therefore advises that no recorded information is held in relation to a policy or guidance on the publication of FOI material or review outcomes.
