Q1 - There are no Trainee Ambulance Technician intakes planned within the East Region (including Tayside) for the 2026/27 financial year.
Recruitment planning for 2027/28 is currently in development, and no confirmed intake schedules are held at this time.
Q2 - There have been no Trainee Ambulance Technician posts advertised within the East Region/Tayside area in the last three years.
Q3 - Technician or Trainee Ambulance Technician roles at a regional level.
Our current recruitment focus is on Newly Qualified Paramedic (NQP) posts, following a high volume of Trainee Ambulance Technician recruitment undertaken between 2020 and 2023.
As such, a current vacancy figure for Technician or Trainee Technician roles within East Region/Tayside is not held in a recorded format.
Q4 - At present, there are no internal development pathways in place for staff seeking progression into Ambulance Technician roles. However, it is anticipated that recruitment will open within the coming weeks for Trainee Ambulance Technician roles. These opportunities will be limited to a number of station locations across the Scottish Ambulance Service and will be advertised via the national NHS Scotland recruitment platform.
