Please provide the following information: For each of the last ten financial years, the number of fatalities arising from road traffic collisions involving a Scottish Ambulance Service vehicle.
For the purposes of this request: * A “Scottish Ambulance Service vehicle” includes any ambulance or emergency response vehicle operated by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
* A “fatality” refers to any person who died as a direct result of injuries sustained in the collision, whether occurring at the scene or subsequently.
If possible, please also state the total number of separate collisions involving a Scottish Ambulance Service vehicle in which at least one fatality occurred. If any information is withheld, please specify the exemption(s) relied upon and explain why they apply.

Following a search of our current and legacy records, the Scottish Ambulance Service identified <5 road traffic collision incidents involving Scottish Ambulance Service vehicles that resulted in a fatality during the period request.
We are unable to provide a more detailed breakdown because the low number of incidents creates a real risk of identification of the individuals involved, particularly when combined with other information that may already be publicly available. This information is withheld under section 38(1)(b) of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002.
