- Information Requested
How many call out incidents has there been involving food delivery bike couriers. From 2023 to present day. Can I get a breakdown of incident and area.
- Response
Whilst the Scottish Ambulance Service holds information relating to incidents involving cyclists, we do not record or categorise incidents in a manner that would allow us to identify whether an individual was operating as a food delivery bike courier at the time of the incident.
In accordance with section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002, this information is not held. To provide the information requested, the Service would need to manually review individual incident records and associated narrative information to establish whether a cyclist was acting as a food delivery courier. This would require the application of complex skill and judgement and would result in the creation of new information rather than the retrieval of recorded information held by the Service. FOISA does not require public authorities to create new information in order to answer a request.
