- Information Requested
How many requests did you receive from patients regarding foreign objects stuck in the rectum / anus during the period of 8/10/25 to 8/10/26
- Response
The Scottish Ambulance Service does not hold this information.
While the Service holds records of emergency calls and incidents, we do not categorise or record incidents in a way that would allow us to identify requests relating to foreign objects stuck in the rectum or anus during the period specified. There is no report, code, category or searchable dataset that would enable these incidents to be isolated and extracted.
To identify the information requested would require the manual review of individual incident records and clinical narratives, the application of professional judgement to determine whether each record fell within the scope of the request, and the subsequent creation of a new dataset. FOISA provides a right of access to recorded information held by a public authority and does not require authorities to create new information in order to respond to a request.
It is for this reason we have applied section 17(1) of FOISA, we do not hold the information requested.
