The Scottish Ambulance Service does not hold information on how many community first responders ‘failed’ training; this information is not held. The Scottish Ambulance Service does not routinely record a consolidated figure for individuals who do not successfully complete the CFR: Emergency Medical Response Course. The Service operates robust selection, onboarding and competency-assessment arrangements. In line with our governance and assessment protocols, individuals who do not initially meet the required criteria may receive feedback and further developmental support to help them demonstrate the knowledge and practical competence necessary for the Community First Responder role.
