Information Requested

How many ambulances remain in service that have exceeded their target operational life span. 

Response

The Scottish Ambulance Service does not hold a list, report or dataset identifying the number of ambulances currently in service that have exceeded their target operational lifespan. In order to provide a figure, the Service would require to analyse information from a number of sources and apply replacement-life assumptions to individual vehicles. FOISA provides a right of access to recorded information held by a public authority and does not require a public authority to create new information in order to answer a request.
