re you able to provide us with a rough average cost of your service sending out an ambulance with paramedics to assess a person and then to bring them into hospital? Clearly - distances will have an impact here but a rough cost would be helpful.

The Scottish Ambulance Service does not hold recorded information on an average or estimated cost for an individual ambulance attendance and conveyance to hospital. The cost of responding to an incident varies depending on a range of factors, including the resources dispatched, the duration of the incident and travel distances involved. As we do not hold a standard average cost for this activity, we are unable to provide the estimate requested.

The publication provides national health service cost information but does not provide a Scottish Ambulance Service average cost per ambulance attendance.
