Response

Under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA), public authorities are required to provide access to recorded information that is held at the time of the request. FOISA does not require an authority to create new information, carry out analysis it does not already hold, or generate records that do not exist. If the information requested is not held in a recorded form, the authority must issue a notice under Section 17 of FOISA confirming that the information is not held.

Having conducted reasonable searches, the Scottish Ambulance Service does not hold the requested information in a recorded form that identifies whether an assault involved a single‑responding resource as opposed to a double‑crewed resource. Our records are not structured in a way that allows us to report assaults by crew configuration for the period requested. It is for this reason we have applied Section 17(1) of FOISA to confirm that the specific information you requested is not held.

Assault data that involved ALL Scottish Ambulance Service staff has been published in a previous FOI - FOI26-001 Staff Assaults
