For each prison in Scotland, for the year 2022, can you tell me:
1. How many times ambulances or emergency medical teams have been called out to each prison in Scotland?
2. How many times a patient was transferred out of the prison during these visits.- Response
Please see attached the number of emergency incidents the Scottish Ambulance Service has attended and conveyed patients to hospital in 2022.
Please note the following:
The data is based on postcodes of prisons and where the word “prison” is included in the incident location.
It should be noted that there may be incidents that did not take place on prison premises, for example the incident location could be “near to prison”. It must also be noted that we cannot definitively say who the patient (s) were for the incident that occurred at the prison meaning they may or may not be prisoners, incidents attended could also include prison staff, visitors or contractors etc.- Response Documents
