Information Requested

I'm looking for information about covid PPE supplies that were delivered to each Ambulance station from the 01/03/2020 to 01/04/2020. I am aware that the covid hub recorded dates of all PPE supplies and when the PPE items were sent out to individual stations. The stations then recorded the dates of arrival and what they received with each delivery. The station that I am interested in is Dalkeith.

Response

The PPE for the covid pandemic was delivered in bulk to the service from the centralised NHSS provider National Distribution Centre (NDC) as funded by the Scottish Government. The bulk was delivered into two sites for the whole service, Gartnaval in the West and Edinburgh City for the East and North.

During the acute phase of the Covid 19 Pandemic the Scottish Ambulance Service raised a weekly order of the following products: Please note that PPE delivery did not commence until the last week of March 2020.

  • 100,000 type II surgical masks in total (50,000 to each Hub)
  • 5,000 FFP3 masks in total (2,500 to each Hub)
  • 500 Boxes of Nitrile Gloves in total, sizes S –XL (250 boxes to each Hub)
  • 1,000 Goggles in total (500 to each hub)
  • 100 rolls of Aprons in total (50 to each hub)
  • 500 packs of Tuffie surface wipes (250 to each hub)
  • 200 x 500ml Hand Sanitiser bottles (100 to each hub)

In relation to the request for information on what was delivered to a specific station, during the specified time frame, we do not have this information for this period as per section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002.

The above stock was delivered to central hub locations around the country and thereafter delivered to the stations based on their local requirements.
