Information Requested

1. I would like a list of the number of staff from SAS currently suspended on full pay
2. Their grade i.e., Paramedic, Technician etc
3. How long they have been suspended for.

Response

For the given data, you will see that some of the figures are shown as, five or less than five, please note that this figure has been suppressed because the statistical value is less than five. The Scottish Ambulance service has a duty, under the Data Protection Act to avoid directly or indirectly revealing any personal details. It is therefore widely understood that provision of statistics on small numbers, five or less are statistically suppressed upon disclosure.

  2. For the information requested the Scottish Ambulance Service is applying Section 38(1)(b) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act.

Applying an exemption under section 38, information is exempt from disclosure if:

(i) the personal data is exempt from disclosure if disclosure would contravene any of the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the UK GDPR (“the first condition”). This exemption is absolute, so it is not subject to the public interest test.
