Response

1. Details of staff Covid infection from January 2020 to present by monthly total of staff absence due to testing positive for Covid 19 by regional area eg Moray, Aberdeenshire, Inverness, Highlands etc.
Please see the attached data per month showing tested positive for Covid 19.
Figures are provided from our Global Rostering system (GRS) and include the cumulative total figure of staff cases recorded in the system against Covid-19 Positive as the reason.
Please note,
Headcount figures shown are based on the confirmed cases provided to the service and recorded on the GRS system.
At this time the Scottish Ambulance Service cannot say for certain if the figures provided below include all members of staff within the National Organisation that may test positive. The reason for this is that not all members of staff are managed under one Central system - therefore there may be some cases that
Working Together for Better Patient Care
have not been provided on our Global Rostering System. Caution should therefore be applied when interpreting these figures.
Please note that an employee is counted within the month if they had an absence due to Covid 19 of any length of time in that month.
An employee may be counted in more than one month. For example: if an employee was absent from 30 Nov 2020 to 4 Dec 2020 they will be counted in the figures for November and December 2020.
For the given data, you will see that some of the figures are shown as, five or less than five, please note that this figure has been suppressed because the statistical value is less than five. The Scottish Ambulance service has a duty, under the Data Protection Act to avoid directly or indirectly revealing any personal details. It is therefore widely understood that provision of statistics on small numbers, five or less are statistically suppressed upon disclosure.
2. Total RIDDOR reports submitted to HSE for Workplace Infections and Dangerous Occurrences relating to Covid 19, since January 2020 to present.
We can confirm the number of Riddors, submitted to the Heath and Safwety Executive is seven.
a. All details broken down to Front Line staff eg A&E, PTS etc and Non Front Line staff eg Office Staff, Workshop, control room etc
