AED Placement and Registration
When planning to purchase an AED, it’s important to consider how accessible it will be in an emergency
To ensure the device can be found and used without delay:
- Place it in a prominent, easily visible location
- Make sure it is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Registering a Public Access Defibrillator
The Circuit is the national defibrillator network that connects defibrillators to NHS ambulance services across the UK, enabling them to be located and accessed quickly in the crucial moments following a cardiac arrest.
If your defibrillator is not registered on The Circuit, it will not be visible to the Scottish Ambulance Service and may not be deployed when it is needed most.
