Can I please request the following information under Freedom of Information legislation:  

  • For 2024, a monthly breakdown on how long it took on average for 999 calls to be picked up by an operator? 
  • For 2024, a monthly breakdown on the longest wait for 999 calls to be picked up by an operator? 
  • For 2024, a monthly breakdown on how many 999 calls were unanswered? 

 

Can I please have this information in the following table: Month Calls Offered Calls Answered Abandoned Calls Average time to Answer Max Time to Answer January 24 February 24 March 24 April 24 May 24 June 24 July 24 August 24 September 24 October 24 November 24 December 24 Total Average: Max:

Please see the attached sheet detailing the number of calls received for each month of 2024, how many calls were answered, how many calls were abandoned, the average time taken to answer the calls and the maximum time taken to answer the call. 

 

Abandoned calls are defined as a call in which the caller hangs up before the call is answered or connected. 

 

There are many factors that can affect the time taken to answer a 999 call, including random spikes in call demand.
