Support in getting to or from appointments
Single journeys during COVID-19
We provide ambulance care to patients who need support to reach their healthcare appointment, or for their admission to and discharge from hospital, due to their medical or clinical needs.
As with the whole of the NHS across Scotland, we are currently experiencing a period of significant and sustained pressure as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. In response to this pressure, we ask that patients explore all safe, alternative means of travel, including family and friends, prior to requesting ambulance support. A list of alternative providers can be found here.
Should you no longer require ambulance support to attend an appointment, please call us on 0300 123 1236 (option 2) and we will cancel your transport request. Please note that in these unprecedented times, we may need to regrettably cancel ambulance transport at short notice. Thank you for your understanding.
