Support in getting to or from appointments
Requesting an ambulance to support you to your appointment
When you receive a hospital appointment, you may need help to get to the hospital. Here is some information and guidance around your options.
Important message: We are asking people to only call Scheduled Care if their transport is required within the next ten days.
Friends or Family
Ask friends or family if they can take you and speak to the Clinic for an appointment that will suit their availability.
Do you have a Mobility Car
The Motability Scheme helps disabled people get mobile by exchanging their mobility allowance to lease a car, scooter, powered wheelchair or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle.
If you do not need ambulance transport, you may be able to arrange transport through other organisations.
Traveline Scotland have a Healthcare journey planner which has hospitals and other healthcare locations easily selected from a map.
If you travel to hospital by other forms of transport, you may be entitled to get help with your costs.
